Hi, I'm Burak.
Student, builder, and the person behind BuLumina. This is the story of why I made it, what it is, and what I'm trying to do.
I'm a student living in Türkiye, and I spend most of my free time learning about AI, writing code, and building things that I wish existed.
BuLumina started as a personal experiment — I wanted to know if I could run a capable AI assistant on my own hardware, without monthly subscriptions, and expose it to people who'd actually use it. Along the way, I also wanted to prove that safety and usefulness can coexist in the same assistant.
It turned out to be more than a weekend project. It became a Discord bot, then a web app, then a small community of people who use it every day. This is still a work in progress, built during nights and weekends, and shaped by whoever shows up to use it.

What I'm building
BuLumina Web
The AI assistant you're using right now — a full chat interface with streaming, thinking blocks, and web search.
BuLumina Bot
A Discord bot running the same AI, with persistent memory per user, moderation features, and admin controls.
Web Platform
This site — a full-stack app with accounts, balance tracking, admin tooling, and a clean chat interface.
I believe AI should be accessible, honest, and safe — not locked behind paywalls, and not so locked-down that it stops being useful. BuLumina is my small attempt at finding that balance.
